The Chicago Bar Association's Business Divorce and Complex Ownership committee, in collaboration with the Chicago Chapter of the American Society of Appraisers' Business Valuation Committee, presents a panel discussion on the evolving nature of business valuation and how it is influenced by legal developments. The panelists will explore topics such as emerging valuation methodologies, changing regulatory frameworks, and recent legal precedents that have shaped the valuation landscape and the implications of these changes for businesses, legal professionals, and valuation experts. The panelists will share their perspectives on adapting to the evolving environment and providing guidance on effectively incorporating legal considerations into business valuations.

 

Following the thought-provoking panel discussion, attendees are invited to a networking reception where they can connect with industry peers, enjoy refreshing cocktails, and savor delectable hors d'oeuvres.

 

Speakers:

Timothy Meinhart, Managing Director and Leader of Shareholder Litigation Valuation Services Practice, Willamette Management Associates (Chicago Office)

Tim has served as an expert witness in litigation engagements have related to business, stock, and asset valuation matters and economic damages. Tim has testified in the Delaware Chancery Court as well as courts in other jurisdictions.

 

John Sciaccotta, Member, Aronberg Goldgehn

John has more than 35 years of trial and litigation experience advocating for clients in complex civil litigation, arbitration, mediation, and business counseling matters with a special emphasis on complex civil trial and appellate cases brought in federal and state courts and tribunals throughout the United States.

 

Kevin M. Zanni, ASA, CVA, CBA, CFE, CEIV, Principal and Director of Valuation Services, Miller Cooper

Kevin focuses on valuation consulting, economic damages analysis and financial advisory services. He has been a valuation analyst for more than 20 years and prepares valuation analyses for purposes of tax planning and compliance, transaction due diligence, financial accounting and reporting, and forensic analysis and dispute resolution.

Natasha Perssico Escobedo, Principal, Business Valuation and Forensic Accounting Practice, Epstein + Nach LLC

Natasha provides valuation services for business entities and securities such as general and limited partnership interests, closely held business enterprises, estates, and employee stock ownership plans. She is an Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) in Business Valuation and accredited in Appraisal Review and Management (ARM) with the American Society of Appraisers. She currently serves as the Chair of the Business Valuation Committee for the Chicago Chapter of the American Society of Appraisers.
